Sport at the Prep School

Prep Sport

The Preparatory School’s beautiful grounds offer the perfect backdrop for outstanding sports provision and play. We are proud of our excellent sporting reputation, achieved through strong coaching at all levels, and a commitment to provide all children with the opportunities to discover and develop their sporting skills.

Pupils participate in games lessons every week and there is an extensive fixtures list for pupils of all abilities and they regularly win team and individual competitions in rugby, hockey (boys and girls), netball, swimming, cross-country and more, including at county and national level.

ߣÍÃÊÓƵ Senior and Prep School lie in one hundred acres of grounds with grass pitches galore. A newly built sports arena big enough for eight badminton courts and with seating for 500 is of a national standard and this together with a refurbished indoor swimming pool, new dance studios, hospitality suite for post match teas and other functions sits alongside our existing sports facilities: two sports halls with climbing walls, two floodlit astroturfs, squash courts, tennis and netball courts, extensive grass pitches and a 400 metre running track (at the adjacent Ryland Centre). The superb Outdoor Education facility of Upton Warren is a mere five minute drive away, and there pupils can engage in a host of activities from sailing and kayaking to climbing and ropework.

Each year we seek to improve facilities further to ensure our sporting reputation is matched by the environment in which we play our games.
